A misty, green valley of vines and market gardens
Cradled beneath the eastern face of Mount Lofty, the Piccadilly Valley is one of the coolest and most picturesque corners of the Adelaide Hills. Frequently wrapped in morning mist, its deep green floor is a patchwork of vineyards, market gardens and grazing paddocks.
The valley is celebrated for chardonnay and pinot noir, and many of the Hills' most prestigious producers source fruit from these high, cool slopes. The drive through the valley, with the TV towers of Mount Lofty above, is a quiet pleasure in any season.
It's the kind of landscape that explains, at a glance, why the Hills make such elegant cool-climate wine.
