A web of bushwalking trails through stringybark forest and gullies linking Mount Lofty, Waterfall Gully and the wildlife park.
Cleland National Park wraps the eastern face of Mount Lofty in a generous spread of native bushland, threaded with walking trails of every length. From short loops near the summit to the long climb up from Waterfall Gully, there's a route to suit most legs.
The forest is classic Mount Lofty Ranges country - stringybark and blue gum, fern-lined gullies and plenty of birdlife. Keep an eye out for sleepy koalas high in the trees, western grey kangaroos and echidnas.
The park also takes in Cleland Wildlife Park, so it's easy to pair a morning walk with an afternoon among the kangaroos and koalas. Parts of the park close at times during 2026 and 2027 for pest animal control, so check park alerts before you go.
