Fox Creek Bike Park
South Australia's premier mountain bike park at Cudlee Creek, rebuilt after the 2019 fires with over 50km of trails.
Fox Creek is South Australian mountain biking's spiritual home — and its great comeback story. The forest trails at Cudlee Creek were devastated by the Cudlee Creek bushfire of December 2019, but a $2.5 million rebuild under the bushfire recovery program turned disaster into opportunity. The park reopened in April 2021 bigger and better than it had ever been.
Today the ForestrySA-managed park spreads across more than 800 hectares with over 50 kilometres of purpose-built single track: cross country, all-mountain, enduro and downhill runs dropping through 180 metres of vertical, plus gravel loops for those who prefer their riding mellow. A jumps park and skills area near the trailhead make it surprisingly good for kids and beginners, and the trail network is clearly graded so you always know what you are dropping into.
Entry is free and the park is open daylight hours year-round, closing only on total fire ban days and during forest operations. Non-riders are catered for too — walkers share parts of the forest, and the green regrowth on the burnt slopes is its own quiet spectacle. Combine a ride with the swinging bridge and waterfall country of Cudlee Creek Conservation Park, or reward the kids afterwards at Gorge Wildlife Park down the road.
