Pioneering biodynamic wines from the Mount Barker hills
On the hills above Mount Barker, Ngeringa is one of the Adelaide Hills' standard-bearers for biodynamic and organic winegrowing. The family behind it has farmed these slopes according to biodynamic principles for years, and the philosophy carries through to the wines.
The results are elegant, restrained cool-climate styles — chardonnay, syrah and aromatic whites among them — that have earned a strong following among natural-leaning drinkers. The estate setting, high and exposed, reflects the marginal climate that gives the wines their tension.
Cellar-door visits are typically by appointment, so plan ahead to taste at the source.
