Ashbourne Valley Cherries
Summer pick-your-own cherries in the southern Hills
A seasonal cherry orchard near Ashbourne where summer visitors pick their own fruit straight from the tree across a short, sweet harvest.
For a few weeks each summer the orchards of the southern Hills turn red with cherries, and pick-your-own farms like Ashbourne Valley throw open the gates. Visitors take a bucket into the rows and fill it straight from the tree — about as direct as the paddock-to-plate story gets.
The season is short (roughly late November into December, weather depending) and always worth checking ahead before you drive out. It's a classic Hills family outing when the stone fruit is at its peak.
